Our ACSOL conferences have given attendees hope, practical solutions, and motivation in our fight for justice.
We’d love to hear what you liked best about your past attendance at an ACSOL conference, and why you are going to our next one June 14-15.
People who are considering attending would like to hear your thoughts too.
The videos of the speakers posted on Youtube were outstanding. What I noticed in the comments was that most were very supportive. They felt the registry was unduly harsh and there was a lot of sympathy for the plight of those previously convicted. It goes to show that the public responds to education and information. When the media puts something terrible on and says how horrible it is then the comments seem to support that narrative, but when a professional gets on and logically explains the facts then the public seems to support that. So the conclusion is that getting information out, the truth out, is vital to changing the mindset of the public. Thank you for those videos last year, some really great ones.
I throughly enjoyed attending last year’s conference because it gave me hope that others had successfully navigated the realities of being a registrant and gave me substantial and practical assistance in living with a 290 conviction.
This year is sure to be fantastic, as we will have wonderful speakers, great breakout sessions, and an opportunity to connect with other registrants over dinner on Friday evening.
Thank you Janice and ACSOL for putting together such a wonderful and meaningful gathering.
